Dr. Hubbard’s family goes back several generations in Howard County. His great-great-great grandfather, one of the first residents of Greentown, was a worker at a sawmill on the Wildcat. Dr. Hubbard was born at Howard Community and raised in Greentown, where he graduated Valedictorian from Eastern High School. Studying pre-medicine and education at Anderson University, he graduated at the top of his class before embarking on an elementary school teaching career for seven years.
Optometry school required a five-year focus of study, where he received the Assistant Instructor Award two different years–the GP Institute Contact Lens Award and the VSP Award for Primary Care Skills. Study rotations included the Marion Eye Center, the Atwater Eye Care Center in Bloomington, the Indianapolis Eye Care Center, and the Danville Veteran’s Hospital Clinic in Danville, Illinois. Dr. Hubbard graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2007 and has been caring for the visual system of patients ever since.
Dr. Hubbard is married to Paula Hubbard, and they have three daughters.
